Gambit Gaming Rules

The Gambit Gaming Community prides itself on being a safe and enjoyable place for everyone to use its services.

We do recommend that community members be at least 18 years old as strong language, situations and content may arise within the community or games.

Here you can find a comprehensive list of our general Community rules as well as rules we enforce within our GGRP and GGCP games.

Infractions of the rules can lead to suspension or termination of members being able to use Gambit Gaming services.

If a member would like to report another member for a rule infraction they may do so by contacting the volunteer Gambit Gaming team on our Discord.

The Gambit Gaming team takes player reports very seriously and will perform an investigation and remain unbias in determining a resolution and conclusion to reports.

The Gambit Gaming team reserves the right to add, remove or edit rules as needed to continue to maintain our quality.

Additionally, The Gambit Gaming team may determine that a player or member is not a proper “fit” for the community and reserves the right to suspend or remove any member without warning.

If any member feels that a Gambit Gaming team member abused their role or position, did not provide adequate service or has broken any rule of Gambit Gaming, they are encouraged to reach out to AlphaZ3R0x directly on Discord through direct message.

GENERAL

Discord Usage

All users of Gambit Gaming are required to join our Discord server.

Language

All users of Gambit Gaming must speak, write and understand English.

All communication (including in-game) must be in English.

Age Restriction

All users must be at least 16 years old.

Respect

All users will show respect to all other users and the Gambit Gaming Team.

No user will show discrimination or hatred towards another member. Especially in regards to; age, race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, genetic makeup, or political views.

Harassment

No user will harass another member.

Harassment is identified as repeated unwanted advances and/or communication.

Adult Content

No user will publicly post any not-safe-for-work (NSFW) or not-safe-for-life (NSFL) material in a non NSFW/NSFL marked channel.

NSFW/NSFL is generally content that displays nudity or extreme gore.

Unauthorized Links

No user will post any unauthorized links or advertisements for other communities, servers, or hubs that may be in direct competition to Gambit Gaming.

Spamming/Trolling

No user will spam any content in any medium.

Spamming is identified as continuously posting similar or same content in a small amount of time.

No user will conduct “trolling”.

Trolling is identified as actions intending to interfere, restrict or ruin another member’s experience or providing false information

Firestarting

No user will publicly speak poorly of other users, the Gambit Gaming Team, or our services with an intent to antagonize or entice a heated argument.

Rule-Playing

No user will conduct rule-playing.

Rule-playing is identified as skewing, citing or bending rules to one’s favor.

Cheating/Exploiting

No user will knowingly use, discuss, or advertise any cheat, hack, exploit or other non-intended functionality.

ROLE-PLAY

In Character/Out Of Character Separation

All users are expected to be able to differentiate between role-play (RP) and real life (IRL).

No user will let another user’s actions in RP affect their view of them in IRL.

Power-Gaming

No user will conduct actions of power gaming.

Power-gaming is identified as the act of rushing through game mechanics, content or RP to make yourself superior to other players.

God-Moding

No user will act in such a way to be perceived as god-moding.

God-moding is identified as creating and tailoring RP to push your character to be superior to others and being perceived as the “main” character, a “god”, or the “hero” for example.

All users should understand that RP is dynamic, you will “win” and you will “lose” in RP.

Combat Logging

No user will conduct combat logging.

Combat logging is identified as leaving or logging out of games or services to avoid conflict or RP, especially when it is not going favorably to you.

No Value of Life (NVL)

All users will play their characters to have mortality and a value for life.

No value of life is identified as playing a character who doesn’t consider the ramifications of their actions, especially when there is plausible danger to their health or life.

New Life Rule (NLR)

All users will recognize the new life rule (NLR).

The new life rule is that only the user playing the character can cause/agree to the permanent death of their character.

Please see specific game rules on how to handle game mechanic death or conflict.

Founders of Gambit Gaming reserve the right to force permanent death to any character if they feel it is in the overall best interest of the RP and server health but will not do so if they are involved in the RP themselves.

Communication

All users must use a microphone and in-game voice unless there is a medical exception.

All users are allowed to use voice modification applications as long as they remain understandable.

We understand that sometimes technical difficulties or medical reasons prevent players from using the voice function. In these instances the chat channels in-game may be used and should be recognized in-character as General Sign Language. If players wish to not recognize these chats, they simply do not understand sign language in-character.

All users may use in-game chat for immediate out-of-character (OOC) communication, but must wrap the message in double parenthesis.

For example, ((I have to log off! Sorry guys.))

No user will conduct OOC communication through voice.

All users may choose to use Discord or other platforms to communicate generally while playing on our servers. However no meta knowledge, planning, or RP should be conducted through private communication means nor will it allow RP to be ignored.

Prohibited RP

All users will recognize that the following topics are prohibited RP:

1 Extreme Torture

2 Slavery

3 Suicide or Gore

4 Domestic or Sexual Abuse

5 Child RP

CASUAL-PLAY

Cheating/Hacking/Exploiting

No user will engage in any cheating, hacking or exploits to give oneself an unfair advantage in-game.

Grieving/Trolling/Camping

No user will conduct any unwanted/unwarranted form of grieving, camping or trolling in-game.

General Behavior

All users are expected to “read the room”, if your behavior seems unwanted or conflicts with the general masses, you will be asked to remove yourself from that situation or group.
